Nanna Bryndís Hilmarsdóttir is the lead vocalist and guitarist of the Icelandic indie folk band Monsters and Men. She was born on May 6, 1989, in Garður, a small town on the Reykjanes Peninsula of Iceland.
Nanna is the primary songwriter of the band and has contributed to some of the biggest hits of Monsters and Men, such as "Little Talks," "Mountain Sound," and "King and Lionheart." She often draws inspiration from Icelandic folklore and the beauty of Iceland's landscapes.
In addition to her work with Monsters and Men, Nanna has also collaborated with other artists such as Of Monsters and Men's guitarist Ragnar Þórhallsson on the song "Seabird," and Sóley Stefánsdóttir on a cover of "She Said" by Plan B.
Nanna is also an avid activist for various social and environmental causes. She frequently uses her platform to speak on issues such as climate change and women's rights.
